Somatic Encounters – A workshop with Andrew Kerton

Join us for a workshop with Andrew Kerton, an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary artist whose practise centres around live performance works and includes video, writing, drawing and sculpture.
Andrew attended de Ateliers post-graduate studio programme in Amsterdam and completed his MA on the SoDA program at HZT, Berlin. He was a founding member of Keren Cytter’s touring dance company D.I.E NOW.
Andrew will lead us in a body focused workshop. This will centre around breath, vocal and vibration exercises as well as the exploration of various somatic encounters. The workshop will include how we might individually, or as a group, translate somatic experience into performance / movement.
The evening session will include a sharing of Andrew’s wider work and any scratch presentations extending out of the workshop.
– come in comfortable clothes (e.g. no jeans)
– Bring mats (some blankets and yoga mats will be provided)
