In this workshop you will learn how to create and fire your own clay pots.
In this workshop with Clayspace Studios we will learn some simple and age-old hand building techniques. From coiling bowls to pinching pots, we will have space to embrace what we have learnt from the previous two sessions with Rosanna Martin and Jonathan Taylor in a hands-on and practical way. This section of the short course will be split over 2 sessions, allowing us time to reflect and develop a few ideas in the week between. Towards the end of the second session we will spend some time painting glaze on our pots.
We will end the course with a third session at Clayspace, where we will fire the outside Raku kiln and leave with our own ceramic object to take home with us.
Clayspace Studios is a not-for-profit social enterprise set up to offer a professional ceramics studio space and teaching facility for the whole community.
