Reading Materials is the first in a series of live projects launched under the collaborative practice Workshop +. It’s an open studio and a collaborative space for research and experimentation. Activities are centred on the playful but investigative use of everyday materials ranging from textiles to technology.

Session 1 will look at the role of materials as audio objects.

The project will take place in a studio environment, and will involve a practical workshop based on themes relating to design, communication, ‘design for disassembly’ and product life cycles.

We welcome anyone with an interest in materials, technology, hack culture as well as artists, designers and hobbyists. All disciplines and abilities welcome.
