OSE at Margate Made 2019
A celebration of creativity, community and learning with artisan stalls, creative activities, entertainment and information.
Margate Made is an annual maker’s market taking place at OSE’s new home, the Margate Adult Education Centre. Featuring 35 stalls selling contemporary and traditional arts and crafts handmade in Thanet, as well as musical entertainment and a variety of information stands. This year OSE will be taking part by offering two free drop in workshops for members of the public.
OSE Clay Workshop: 11.30am-1.30pm
A simple workshop to re-imagine our local landscape through geometry and architecture using raw clay. This workshop will run on a drop in basis for roughly 6-8 people at a time.
OSE Vegetable Circuit Performance Workshop: 2-4pm
Learn to make a veg powered battery circuit and see and hear how chemical energy changes to electrical energy. We will introduce participants to various ways of producing noise together from a vegetable battery circuit, contact microphones and guitar pedals. The workshop is open on a drop in basis for roughly 6-8 people at a time. Participants are encouraged to bring their own vegetables to experiment with. Facilitated by Potato Band, the sound and performance project of OSE 2019 Associate artist Rosie Carr and collaborator Natalie Kynigopoulou.
