I.A.M. THESE PEOPLE

For Refugee Week 2023, OSE Alumni Dipesh Pandya has compiled a collaborative playlist with (im)migrant owners and workers in shops and businesses along Northdown Road and Cliff Terrace, Margate. This cultural and sonic journey is a representation of a side of Cliftonville not heard outside of its (im)migrant communities.

You can listen via the button below and at various Margate and Cliftonville locations throughout Refugee Week.

A cultural and sonic representation of a side of Cliftonville not heard outside of its (im)migrant communities. A collaboratively compiled sonic journey through the Global South featuring 12 hours of music.

I.A.M. THESE PEOPLE is an ongoing project by Dipesh Pandya that was first realised as a participatory, nomadic street cafe along Northdown Road and Cliff Terrace, Cliftonville, Margate, that took place during the closing weekend of Refugee Week 2022.

This project is a continuation of ways of working developed during Dipesh Pandya’s time as an Associate at Open School East, 2018; building on his relationships with (im)migrant communities from his neighbourhood in Cliftonville through using street conversations as a generative method for research and making work.
