FK Alexander: The power of collective action

This workshop is a space where the power of a group can offer support to spend time exploring simple durational action based tasks that, when alone, may be challenging to fully commit to – mirror work, repetitive actions, sound meditations with singing bowls and gongs, time outdoors together, much of which will be in silence. Some time at the end for discussion!

This is a one-day workshop based on a 3 day 2016 LADA DIY retreat.

Attendants will be asked to bring an item of sentimental value which they are willing to let go of. Towards the end of the day, we will destroy these in a symbolic ritual, while listening to drone metal.

FK Alexander is a Glasgow based Performance Artist whose work is concerned with issues of wounds, recovery, aggressive healing, radical wellness, industrialisation and noise music.

FK’s work predominantly puts her body at the centre of ritualised, action based, often durational work, in often ridiculous attempts to communicate ideas around a new language, new violence and new love.
