A Night With Nkisi

visual_NONRecords_Label

Open School East invites you to a listening session and conversation with Nkisi, producer, DJ and co-founder NON records label. NON is run by a collective of African artists, and of the diaspora, using sound as a primary medium to articulate the visible and invisible structures that create binaries in society, and in turn distribute power.

We particularly welcome queer/trans/female identifying DJs, producers and music makers to join us. We’ll focus on what strategies of survival and subversion NON have used to address relations of power at the intersections of class, race, and gender in the music industry.

This event is part of ‘Agenda Salad’, a week of exhibitions, performances, workshops and discussions devised by OSE associates to mark the end of Year 2. For more information click here.
