Unearthing a Location with Hannah Lees
Join us on an expedition to Pegwell Bay for a day of mud larking, foraging and clay excavation. Hannah Lees will lead a workshop that delves into the landscape in an attempt to formulate or rediscover the cultural archaeology of a place.
Through ethnographically mapping the area, we will consider our relationship to the rhizomatic, and our location within a network of humans, non-humans, systems and objects. Using our unearthed materials we will create objects totems and artefacts as a way of exploring and reimagining our place within the landscape.
We will begin the day at Open School East with an introduction from Hannah and will travel to Pegwell Bay from there to begin the workshop. There will be a limited number of car seats available so it would be best to arrange transport independently.
