Is Despacito Art School for me?

Despacito Art School is an art collective for children aged 5-12+ from Cliftonville West and Margate who face barriers to accessing creative opportunities. When spaces open up they are limited and priority is given to families who satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

  • You/your child face barriers to accessing creative opportunities locally due to your ability, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
  • You face economic barriers to accessing creative opportunities locally, including costs of transport and tickets to exhibitions or events.
  • Your child thrives in creative settings but struggles with school.

You/your child may also face other barriers to creative opportunities not listed here. Whilst we will never ask you to disclose barriers that you/your child face when joining Despacito Art School, we ask you to consider these criteria before applying.

When we have a high number of applications, spaces are given to children with the greatest need who want to be a part of Despacito Art School.
