Katarzyna Lukasik

Katarzyna Lukasik is a Polish artist working across moving image, sound and text. She examines the relationship between body, sound, voice and mysticism in political and religious discourses. Through linear and non-linear narratives, she explores exhaustion, trauma, collective identity, the human voice and myths through the lens of psychopolitics, biopolitics and hauntology. Her research driven process is integral to her practice and it informs the material production of her work.

Corpus Permanet is a 3 channel video and sound installation investigating the biological limitations of cognitive work in the late capitalist system; states of exhaustion and / or inertia as sites of resistance. Through the use of hyper real bodies and displaced locations, the film examines the relationship to the body when it shifts from being a subject to an object. It questions the neoliberal logic of market economy and its physical and mental effects.
