Wrestle a lot harder, 2016

An experimental music workshop for young people (November 2016)

wrestle

‘Wrestle a Lot Harder’ was an experimental music workshop for young people between the ages of 14-16 from Hackney, East  London, or further afield.

Across five day-long workshops in November 2016 we wrote, performed, recorded, produced and designed a collective 12-inch vinyl record, asking ourselves: how can we speak, play, learn and respond to one another through sound and song?’

Who: No need to have any formal musical training or qualifications, we just want people who are into making music.

What: We worked with artists and musicians like Charles Hayward, Mira Calix, Alan Bryden, Matthew De Kersaint Giraudeau and designers Åbäke.

Where: Open School East, 43 De Beauvoir Road, London N1 5SQ.

When:
Thursday 10 November, 6.30-9.30pm
Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November, 1-4pm
Saturday 19 November, 1-4pm
Saturday 26 November, 1-4pm
Plus a trip to see the vinyl being pressed.

How: All the activity is free, just bring some energy.

‘Wrestle a lot harder’ was organised by OSE associate Anneke Kampman.
