Join Open School East and Jon Davis (Director, Cement Fields) for an online talk, where Jon will share his curatorial and commissioning approach developed through projects in a number of large arts organisations and festivals. In the session, we will unpack the differences between open call, direct commissions, and research & development grants, and discuss ways in which you might respond to or apply for each.

Jon Davis is the Director of Cement Fields, a visual art organisation working collaboratively with artists and communities to create ambitious new art along the Thames Estuary in North Kent. Jon has extensive experience as a creative commissioner, programmer and executive producer creating large-scale projects and place-based programmes that enable bold and inclusive storytelling.

Jon has delivered projects for Coventry City of Culture, London 2012 Festival and 14-18 NOW on behalf of LIFT, and has most recently Executive Produced β€˜Galwad’, an UNBOXED commission.
