For the first year of the partnership we are commissioning the artist Shenece Oretha.  This first collaboration will be part of Iniva’s Drift Pavilion where they will create a project in collaboration with OSE’s Despacito Art School children. From 8 – 12 August, Shenece worked directly with the 5-12 year olds, delivering four workshops and a listening party where the families were also invited. The material created in the workshop sessions, through voice, sound and play will compose a new soundscape. The new commissioned work will be available at drift.iniva.org in November 2022.

Shenece Oretha is a London based multidisciplinary artist sounding out the voice and sound’s mobilising potential. Through installation, performance, print, sculpture, sound, workshops and text she amplifies and celebrates listening and sound as an embodied and collective practice.

DRIFT is part of the European Pavilion: a pan-European, multidisciplinary arts initiative by the European Cultural Foundation that aims to support and promote artistic and educational projects exploring ideas for a future Europe.
