70×70 was a season of films selected by Iain Sinclair to mark his 70th birthday.

In association with Laburnum Boat Club, 70×70 presented Aguirre, Wrath of God (1971, dir. Werner Herzog) with Andrew Kotting and Iain Sinclair.

16th-century Spanish conquistador Lope De Aguirre leads a troop of men down the Amazon in search of gold. Driven to insanity by the heat, hunger and fantasies of supremacy, Aguirre brings his crew to annihilation.

The screening at Open School East followed a boat excursion on the canal, with thanks to Laburnum Boat Club on their 30th anniversary.
